CONDITION

All items must be in a good condition, either nearly new or new for clothing and selected homeware items. Furniture and specific types of homewares (e.g., curtains) can be older and used but must be in good condition.

Clothing items must be also seasonal before being brought into the shop—i.e., we do not take on summer clothing during the winter period and vice versa.

Lastly, all items must be supplied in a clean and intact condition. Clothing must be washed and ironed or dry cleaned. If costs are incurred to upgrade the item to a selling standard (e.g., dry cleaning or repair for tears, missing buttons or zips, etc.), costs must be paid for in advance, unless otherwise agreed with us.

PRICING

How We Price Items: To help us price items, we ask donors to initially send clear photos in advance (WhatsApp 07563 447360). If there is a maker’s mark or label, please include this, along with any useful links to the original product online. If you know what you originally paid, that’s always helpful too! If you still have the receipt we can include it with the sale. Pricing can be agreed together, or we can suggest a selling price based on our experience and market demand. We will send our proposed prices for your approval, but we ask that these are confirmed within 24 hours. If we don’t hear back within that time, we’ll go ahead with the suggested pricing so we can keep things moving smoothly. For ease and speed, we prefer to handle all pricing discussions via WhatsApp.

MINIMUM ITEM VALUE REQUIRED TO START

To work with us we require items totalling £50 in value in order to set up an account.

We work on a sale or return basis. Once you give us your preloved items, we will offer them for sale on the shop floor for approximately 2-6 weeks, depending on the item. If they sell, we give you 40% commission on the sale price. If after 2 (or up to 6) weeks the items do not sell, we will proceed to one of several options. Usually we will already have confirmed the following, but we ask you to contact us at the 2-week stage to discuss the following options:

A. Continue to offer the items for sale at the same price for an additional 2 weeks;

B. Discuss reducing the price; or

C. Arrange a time for you to collect your items.

Please note if we do not hear from you after 2 weeks, we may reduce the items to sell them, reductions can be up to 50%. If are happy for your items to be reduced after 2 weeks please confirm at the time you deliver your items to the shop for sale.

For more valuable or unique pieces we can discuss a longer sales period.

Currently payments are made monthly and usually 28 days after the sale date of the item due to our returns policy with customers. Please contact us via phone (Whatsapp or call) or e-mail via the contact details on our site for a sales update and payment requests. Payments via our store must be made by appointment.

Payments can be collected at your appointed collection date in-person in cash (signed for) or can be paid to your account via online banking. A minimum of 3 working days advance notice is required for any cash payment request. Please allow 7-14 days for either method to receive a payment. Additionally, please note that payouts are not processed during holiday periods.

If unsold items need to be returned, payments will not be made until the items have been collected.
