eCommerce Launch Expert Needed – Retail Product & Supplier Setup
Overview
We are looking for a commercially minded, hands-on individual with retail business experience to lead a defined project:
Get our online sales up and running.
This role involves pulling together supplier leads, developing our product offerings, and shaping a workable, profitable sales strategy via our Shopify website (recently relaunched).
This is a freelance/project-based role focused on results.
Key Deliverables
- Launch-ready product selection and plan (mix of drop-shipping + stock buy-in)
- Online store populated with market-ready product listings
- Clear pricing structure that ensures profitability
- Early-stage sales strategy and go-live support
- Workable supplier relationships or leads in place (new or existing)
Responsibilities
- Research or consolidate supplier leads (mainly furniture, homewares; fashion optional)
- Identify products with viable margins and market demand
- Set recommended pricing strategy for each product or category
- Recommend suitable supply models: drop-ship, stock ordering, or a mix
- Populate Shopify store with selected products (uploading where needed)
- Suggest go-live actions (e.g., homepage layout, priority categories, shipping rules)
- Review existing supplier terms and negotiate where needed
- Collaborate with management to refine ideas and direction
Candidate Profile
- Experience in retail, sales, product buying, merchandising, and/or eCommerce
- Shopify site knowledge (especially product uploads, collections, etc.)
- Supplier sourcing and negotiation experience
- Project management experience, ideally with digital business platforms
- Commercial acumen – understands pricing, gross margin, profitability, shipping
- Confident working independently with regular input from management
Project Details
- Type: Freelance / Fixed-term project
- Location: Remote (UK hours preferred)
- Duration: Approx. 4–8 weeks (flexible depending on scope and results)
- Start: ASAP (from September 2025)
- Platform: Shopify (primary)
- Support: Direct line to management for input/decisions
- Potential for Extension: Yes, depending on outcome
